Hi {{first name | friend}}!
Last month’s gathering in Hudson genuinely encouraged me. If all our families and kids had made it, we would’ve had about 25 people in the room! It was a joy to see that we’re not alone in longing to see God work in this community.
As I shared at the meeting, I’m eager to hit the ground running. I want to see what God will do—which is why I emphasized prayer as the first and most essential step.
But I realize something: many of you who were there (and those reading this) may be wondering, “So what happens next? Where are we in the church planting process?”
It makes sense to ask. We haven’t moved yet. I’m not on the ground meeting people yet. In many ways, we’re at the “step before the step.”
Church-planting strategist Peyton Jones notes that the #1 constraint on missions and church planting is funding. And that’s exactly the stage we’re in. Before the work begins in earnest, the funding must be in place.
Thankfully, we’re not starting from zero—our Wisconsin Presbytery, several churches, and individual partners have already committed to helping launch this work.
But this is the step we are on right now: this spring I will be focused on raising the support necessary for the first phase of ministry. And to help kickstart the work, we’re seeking to raise $15,000 by the end of this year.
Always in Christ,
Matt Cline
